NAME 2019 Annual Meeting AwardsThank-you for considering an abstract submission for the John Pless Best Student or the John Smialek Best Resident paper/poster competitions at this years’ annual National Association of Medical Examiners educational conference. Your active contribution to the program and presentation at the conference are greatly appreciated by the NAME membership. In order for your presentation to be eligible for a BEST AWARD, you are required to submit a complete manuscript in electronic format to [email protected] by September 27, 2019. This will allow the selection committee ample time to review your manuscript before the actual presentation. If your manuscript is not received by the deadline your presentation will not be considered eligible for the award. The deadline is FIRM. Please note that the manuscript guidelines are attached as well as rules for specific presentations. If you are unable to meet the requirements please notify the NAME office immediately. In addition to your presentation being considered for a BEST AWARD, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of an exciting opportunity provided by the NAME Foundation. The NAME Foundation is separate from its “parent” organization, the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME); however, they have many overlapping areas of interest. The NAME Foundation is a charitable organization which supports forensic sciences and death investigation through the conduct, management, sponsorship, and coordination of research and educational activities for the betterment of death investigation. Your presentation certainly supports these goals and purposes. The Board of Trustees of the NAME Foundation is pleased to offer you a travel stipend to help defray the costs associated with presenting at the conference. You will receive the stipend after the conference providing that you submit your written manuscript to [email protected] by the September 27, 2019 deadline, and then register, attend, and be present at your poster or give the oral presentation during the conference. Thank-you for your commitment to research and educational activities of death investigation at an early stage of your career! The NAME Best Poster/Paper Awards Committee and the Board of Trustees of the NAME Foundation wishes you all the best of future success.
